This is a screenshot of my character shooting with random objects appearing on screen. The cahracter fires using the spacebar, and moves around the screen.

This, is my car animation.

It has a few functions inside of it that allow it to accelerate, decelerate, and sowly roll to a stop depending on spacebar input. No trouble really, might implement it into my game at some point.

Progress

Here is my flash character and his basic actions. Mech

The only trouble I really have at this point is making the Up action for this Powerup sequence work, and to have his Down action of the left gunfire not make him flip around for the following actions after it. Other than that, it seems to be going well. Can't really complain about my character. I like him.

My sprite sheet came out alright I think. Its a dissection of my character. I think I'll name him something along the lines of Suit Five. I think the name will help me with a storyline for him. Probably going to have the other Suits as bosses. That way, each generation of mech can come out and pose a threat to Suit Five, thus continuing the story. I'm in the process of making more actions for him, like draw weapon, fire, jump, as well as various other normal action game things that action people do with action packed actions.

As far as the last assignment with the two sliced images...

I mixed those two images, minus the caption. Here is the end result.

As you can see, it isn't perfect, but I think that it looks convincing enough to make the previous caption true. Well, okay, you do in fact need to see them to make the caption partially true, but I think it was close enough.

Personally, I would have rather done this in photoshop for a much much much cleaner finish, less time consuming, and also I wouldn't have to keep using the paint bucket tool for vector coloring. Those eyes took forever.

Hopefully, the game will be more enjoyable to me (I know it will be).

Research on flash 2D games

I started my class research playing 2D flash games of various genres. Out of the games that I played, a few struck me as original and entertaining.

Xeno TacticThis is a defense game for the most part. The idea is that enemies enter from one side of the stage and their goal is to get to the other side. The player has to stop them with a maze of turrets, which can be bought with money, which you get from each kill. Each wave of enemies is progressively stronger and faster, making it more difficult to stop.

Dofus
This game I have actually been playing for a little over a year now. It's a flash based MMORPG(Massive multi player online role playing game) where a person can roam freely in another world. The world consists of monsters, quests, dungeons, and other kinds of tasks to keep you busy.
You start off choosing 1 of 12 character classes to become your player. Each class has 20 abilities and spells that eventually become unlocked as you level your character. There are guilds for characters to join and get into group fights with. But the main reason that the game interests me is it's Player versus Player system(PvP).
The way it works is that there are two alignments. Bontarian, which play the role of good doers with angel wings that become larger as you gain honor points, and Brakmarian(devil wings) are the polar opposite. The two main cities of good and evil are on opposite sides of the world map, and any territory in between is fair game to be conquered in 8v8 group fights.
The system for territory control is done via use of items called Prisms. When a territory is occupied by more than 50% of an alignment, they can place a prism. Now, it is the job of the opposing alignment to attack the prism with up to 8 people, and await up to 8 defenders.
The fighting system is turn based, much like chess, with squares for movement and obstacles to prevent line of sight for attacking.
